You are ready to list your company but need to know how to go about it? This quick guide is here to help you understand the process.

Step 1: Sign Up or Log In

Go to and you will see the sign up button. Signing up is quick and easy, we just need your name, email address and a password. Once you have signed up you will get a verification email so that we can make sure you are in fact you.

(presently you are on our support site so please don't sign up using the Sign Up button you can see on the top right of this page, you need to go to

Step 2: List Company

Just next to the signup button there is a ‘List Company’ link (top right). Click on this and it will start the setup process. The steps include:

Find yourself:

Not yourself, but your company! First, we need to see if your company already exists in our system:

The SchoolAdvisor team is continuously loading new companies and schools are also adding new companies, so there is a good chance your company is already featured. Once you have found your company, select it.

If your company name doesn't show up then enter it and click next.

Choose your listing type:

You have three options, the above comparison breaks them down into more detail. If you choose a paid option, you can cancel anytime and go back to the free option. We don’t believe in burdening you with long term contracts.

Enter company details:

Well, this section is pretty simple. Enter your company details. A key thing to remember is that these details will be shown on your company profile.

Enter billing details

Only for companies taking one of the paid listing options. If you are taking the free option jump to step 3. 

This is all your relevant billing info, don’t worry schools won't see this. SchoolAdvisor requires it for payment details.

p.s. don’t forget to select your company at the bottom.

Load the credit card or debit order details

Here you have two options:

  • Load your bank details and we will directly debit your account every month. Remember that you can cancel at any time. Simply add your relevant bank details.
  • Or get the company credit card loaded.

Sign the e-mandate
Legally within South Africa, you are required by law to sign a mandate for a recurring payment. This is specifically if you are signing up with your bank details and not a credit card. Once again, just remember that you can cancel at any time and go back to the free version.

We have made signing the mandate super simple as it is an online form (you even get to sign it online), provided by our trusted payment partner, Direct Debit.

After signing it will direct you back to our website. You will also get a PDF version of the mandate emailed to you for your records.

Step 3: The fun begins

Now you can load all the details schools need in order to choose you and your products and services.

All of your company and product information can be found on the ‘Manage Listing' button. Click on the down arrow next to your name in the header of the web page to find the button.

Within ‘Manage Listing’ you can:

Edit company details

These are the main level details that include:

  • Company logo (optimal logo size is 200 x 200 px)
  • Website
  • Telephone Number
  • Company Description
  • General email address for queries

These show on your main company page. To edit them click the big ‘Edit button’

Manage Branches/Offices

Here you can manage your office/branch addresses. With the ‘free’ and ‘country’ option you get to list 3 addresses. If you need to list more you can then pay an additional R20pm per address loaded.

You can either:

  • Add new branches
  • Edit branches that are already listed (use the ‘Edit View’ button)

Once you have edited or added your branch/office it will show on a map so that you can double check it is correct. When schools search for products or services a map will show what is around them so make sure you get all your addresses listed. It will your increase your chances of being found!

Manage Products/Services

Schools need to find not only your company details but also your specific product or service details. Within this section, you can add a new product/service or edit one that is presently there.

You might find that there is already a product or service listed. How did it get there? If a school has previously reviewed you they would have added that product or service. These now show under your products or services. After ‘claiming your listing’ you will now be the only person that can add new products or services.

Key things to remember to add:

Tags: these are keywords that describe your product or service. Add as many as you want, remember the more tags you use that describe your product or service the easier it will be for schools to search for you.

Schools: Show the schools that you service! This is the biggest tool you have to sell to new schools - let them see exactly who uses your product or service, it builds trust. The school names will show in your product page and one your company page.

Product Pictures: (only for paid listings). An image says 1000 words. If you have this functionality, use it to show off your products and services. Once again, this will help you sell more products or services.
